The difference between a blog and a website and the roles of a blogger

  • A website is generally quite fixed, presenting a specific type of information whereas a blog is more about the exchanging of information and interaction through the addition of entries that are updated quite frequently. In a nutshell, websites are essentially more about audiences retrieving specific information, whereas blogs on the other hand are much more concerned with the sharing/exchanging of specific information.
  • A blogger is someone who has a blog and generally will constantly update it with information, photos, videos (anything really). On the contrary, someone who visits a blog simply consumes the content and responds to the content rather than creates/uploads it (Saddington, 2010).
